Front Door

This has been on my To-Do list ever since we moved into our house 3 years ago, to paint our chipping front door and give it some love. After all, it’s cool as hell, with glass paneling and a built-in bell.

I originally thought of painting it green, and giving the house a pop of color…

I stepped back, checked out the progress and quickly aborted that plan, just can’t commit to a bright green door on a full-time basis.  I would love it some days and hate it all others.

So moved on to plan B.  The inside of the door is painted with Chalk Paint® in Graphite.  I decided to keep it consistent and just add a pop of color with the numbers.

The original numbers were black, and had to be primed before applying the spray paint of the desired fluorescence.  Since I love Chalk Paint® and all its capabilities, i decided to use it as the primer.

Next, one and one half coats of Chalk Paint® on the door, and voila! I now have a sassy, sexy, front door that I will love to come home to year-round.

Another addition to the family-
Found this slat bench and was planning to bring to the flea, but realized it was better suited at our doorway than our rectangular ottoman.  Both my husband and son approve. It’s a keeper.
